Derby Fundraiser & Parade! & SLI Fundraiser!

So we're holding another fundraiser, at the deerhunter in spanish fork on June 11th! Also that morning we are going to be a part of the springville parade. So busy buys day! Im excited though, we'll be skating in the parade and then hanging out at deerhunter all night! For the fundraiser we're going to be selling merchandise, spankins and having a silent auction. We're also selling out raffle tickets so that will be fun! I wasnt there for the last fundraiser at deerhunter, it was before I joined the team but it looked like sooo much fun. So im glad to be a part of this one!

Moving on, SLI Unique is supposed to be having a fundraising carwash this saturday  June 4th up in slc, the venue is TBD but ill keep you updated. Honestly I think we need more time before a fundraiser to properly promote or it wont really work out. So im gonna talk to the managers about moving the date down further. In the meantime Keep looking for updates!

This photo is my favorite photo from this shoot. I did this shoot with a good friend of Mine Mark, hes really awesome and does excellent work. We shot at the salt flats on those huge rocks out by the lake. I ordered my shirt on Ebay, I got my shorts at pac sun, I got the boots at forever young in the mall, I got all of my climbing gear and Hansens in Orem, the gloves I ordered from a magazine when I was in colorguard, they are for rifle spinning, and the Ipod case on my arm I got from walmart. I do actually rock climb and repel so all the equipment is mine. Surprisingly the boots were really easy to climb up the rocks in. Hahaha. This shoot was fun!

Derby Practice!

So last night was derby practice, my first practice with my new skates! Yesss! I did wayy better than I usually do, of course though with new skates I would. I used to only be able to skate like 3 laps in one minute and this time I got almost 5, I was like 3 feet away from 5 laps! Hells yess! I was doing better crossovers and faster catching up when doing partner whips. It was awesome. I cant wait to order the custom made leather snouts for my skates to protect them when I fall! And i want to order new toe stops and laces! Then ill be good! Practice was awesome, we've been working hard on endurance training and i think im getting better!! We now have our official team applications so I have to fill that out and send it in with 45 bucks to get my name registered and then I have to pass my skills assessment and my rules test and ill be officially in the league. We all have to pass them. Once we do that we can start skating i our new building and get a new league picture done! Im excited, things are going awesome! More updates later!

This shoot was extremely fun because I got to shoo with G.I! Who I love love love and I was in an amazing dress with the best rainbow socks evar! We shot this in my aunts house in her bedroom right in the corner where the door is. LOL. You really can shoot ANYWHERE! The dress Im wearing I bought it at Deb in the Provo mall, along with a set of bracelets, a necklace, earrings and a pair of 5 1/2 inch heels to match, all of which im not wearing currently. I bought the rainbow socks a deb also at a different time though. This picture was edited by the lovely Brioni, she is awesome with her editing skillz. I should be shooting with her soon and getting some more pix to add to my portfolio! Enjoy!

We were working on a project shooting the 7 deadly sins and this photo came from the Pride shoot. Im still waiting on the rest of the edits from that shoot but this is one of them that I got back! Id say this is one of my favorite photos of myself. WE shot out by my old house in traverse mountain in the snow! I got the whit fur hooded coat that im wearing from aeropostale, Im wearing Sinful Jeans that I got from buckle they have wings on the butt, My shirt is actually a black and gold COrset that I got from hot topic back in the day before it went all emo. So a very long time ago haha. The scarf and earrings were Chelseas tat she brought for the shoot and Im wearing white furry boots that you cant see in this pic but I got them at forever young in the orem mall. Enjoy!!!!

Urbanite Imagery and I are very very good friends. I went to school with her and we've always been close. When I first re-connected with her back in 2007 we decided to start a project portraying the 7 deadly sins. This photo came from the "Wrath" shoot. It's not the actual wrath portrayal, but it came from the same shoot. This shoot was a favorite of mine. We shot it in Lehi by some old rail road tracks in town. The sweater im wearing I got from Hot topic and it has the boondock saints on it. Im wearing Silvers from buckle and a red shirt that I got at walmart like a billion years ago. This shoot was very dark, gloomy, and evil feeling! and I loved it!!!

This shoot was one of the first shoots I ever did. It was an audition shoot with Venus photography for a skater socks shoot. I didn't make the audition because Venus thought I was one of the chic elite girls and when we found out that I wasn't her he decided not to use me. Haha professional aye? Anyways The shirt was my own, I got it at Pac sun, the choker has little silver stars on it, its my favorite one and I got it at hot topic wayy back in the day. The shorts were provided by Venus for the shoot and they were originally blue, he photoshopped them black to match my outfit better. The socks are Skater Socks brand and they were provided by Venus as well as the skates. This shoot was hella fun because I was in Skates the entire time! :)(:

Skates are In!!

BOOYAH!!! My new Rebels came in yesterday!!!!!!! Thank you Skate Fairy!!!!! Im a happy camper now WOO! I dont have to suck anymore!!!!! :)(:  Juss thought I'd let you guys know. Now we are doing skills assessments in like 2 weeks and so I have to practice my ass off to be ready by then since its going to take a little bit to get used to the new wheels. But I can finally T stop and I already know how to plow stop, but it should be easier with these bad boys on! I can jump 3 inches I can maneuver across the track fluidly and i can step side to side and front to back. Plus do my cross overs going the normal skating direction, still working on the opposite direction crossovers but ill get them! Now I have to try and skate 25 laps in 5 minutes. I only get 4 laps around on my old crappy skates but now that I got new badass ones, Im golden!!! Heres a pic!

Im going to start doing a photo of the day each day on my page and explaining where I got the apparel I am wearing, ect. So we'll start with this one. I made the falls, the Kandi Belt, the backpack, and all the kandi on my arms. I bought the fingerless gloves, the fluffies, and the tutu off ebay. Derby tonight was EPIC!

So tonight we did ALOT of endurance training which kicked my ASS! Juss sayin! It was awesome and im sooo excited because tomorrow my new skates will be here and finally I will be able to skate like eeryone else instead of always falling behind. I swear that I do 2 or 3 times MORE work than eeryone else when skating, especially speed skating or sprinting. So after getting my new skates with new wheels and bearings I will be flying! Im excited too because finally when I turn the corners I wont end up almost completely stopped, Ill actually keep going and wont loose speed! Ahhh cant wait. Eeryone prolly thinks im the crappiest skater evar, but I swear its my wheels and bearings! I cant do jack with them because they are so crappy. So next weeks practice will be EPIC.  

Moving on! Idk when we get to move into our new building but hopfully soon, then practice can go for 5 nights a week, which im looking forward to! I have been stretching like crazy at home and trying to get my felxibilty up so I can do more at Derby. Overall this has been a good change for me. I love eery minute of it! We havent started playing FULL CONTACT derby yet, so when we do im expecting it to be insane. And im excited! Skills assessment testing is coming in the first weeks of June, which im not excited for only because I havent been able to practice on my new skates yet since they are coming tomorrow! I hope that a week or so on my skates will get me ready for it! Heres to hoping! lol. Then the rules test is next, I need to study like mad. I have been but theres sooo many rules. So i shall keep studying forever! K well im out, I need to soak in the hot bath cuz im dying haha. Peace & Love!

Skates!

Carl got the tracking number for my Skates and they should be here Tuesday! Wooo, I still need to get some toe guards for them, but at least I will have them at all! Im so happy! I wish they would get there early so I can use them on monday, but it looks like I will have one more practice on my old skates! Thats ok with me though cuz its only 1 more. Hopefully we can get into our warehouse to start practicing soon! :)(: Juss a small update for now! Night!

Unique SLI

So I was asked to join a brand new modeling team names Unique SLI as a promotional model doing event work and whatever else is needed. I agreed of course, because why pass up a good opportunity? Im not contracted with anyone so there is no reason why I cant join another team and still be on the Vyxenz. Although the Vyxenz right now are kind of at a standstill because the owner is having some issues with her persona life right now and until they are all taken care of then the vyxenz are on hold. Understandable and not even a big deal. Either way I joined Unique SLI and im excited to see where it will take me next! Its always exciting seeing where life takes you. We are going to mainly be working with Slihh (Sly) entertainment promoting for his events but with the freedom to work with whoever we want. So there is supposed to be a meeting coming up soon and ill keep you all updated after I find out more information. Life comes fast! And I love eery minute of it!

Derby Practice!

TONIGHT WAS AWESOME! Juss sayin. Anyways we practiced jamming in mini groups of 5 to kind of get the feel of things being a jammer and trying to make your way through the pack. I think it helped a lot too. And then we played shark attack and I actually didnt get tagged as much as usual, I was dodging people, which was awesome since I was on my damn outdoor wheels again. LOL! But I did it. Then we practiced knee falls, and my right knee actually keels and has since the LAST practice. It was still bruised so I think I need some more padded knee pads. Ill look into all that later.

And then we scrimmaged which was awesome, I jammed first and got a ton of points, but wasnt the lead jammer. im ok with that though. And i juss played diff spots throughout the scrimmages. It was a good practice. I also ordered my skates!!!!!!!!!! BOOYAH! It took me forever, but I got them ordered and im so excited yayaya! They are black rebel invaders with pink wheels! And they should be here in like a week or two. Finally I will have good skates and wheels for indoors. Sooo happy right now! Now I need new shoelaces, cuz they come with boring black ones, and then tow guards. I need to order some hella good ones so I dont ruin the toe of my boot when falling a ton. Those 2 things will be next on my list! And then more practice! Can wait for next week! peace!

SF City Health Fair!

Soo, the health fair was pree awesome today. I got there at 11 and helped set up, then we passed out stickers and sold a few shirts and accessories. Which was good. I also bought a shirt of my own because we are getting new ones soon and I want to have all of the different shirts eventually, so I figured might as well start with this one! Anyways im going to modify it, cut it up and tie it prolly with beads and stuff a little bit later. Then later on we did apace line through the fair for demonstration and we juss skated around hanging out with people, promoting. We were going to do a slow motion jam to show people exactly what we do, but then the wind and rain happened! So eeryone at the fair packed up early and called it quits. It was good while it lasted though.

Health Fair Update!

So good new, they layed the track and measured the warehouse and ITS PERFECT! So we finally have a place to call our own! Wooot! We are going to be cleaning it all up in the next little while and hopefully soon start practicing there! Im excited for that, we are soo lucky that we found a suitable warehouse so soon. So lucky. Onto other news, the Derby Darlins will be at the Spanish Fork Health Fair tomorrow morning from 11am to 3pm. Its located in the parkinglot of the old food for less building. We will have a table there selling merchandise and sponsor packets and we may possibly be doing a few drills like a pace line and a mini jam out in the parkinglot for those interested to see what we do. So it will be a fun time and eeryone should come out and support your local roller derby league!!!! Thats all the news I have for now! Back to studying for the rules test and working on my assessment skills!

Another Derby Update!

So the first practice in 2 weeks was yesterday. And it was EPIC. I know I say that alot, but it really was. We had tons of fun. I got to try on the skates im going to buy, And im keeping the wheels that Ive been using. The boots are going to be black and the wheels Pink. They are Rebel Invaders, im super excited. I found out my correct size and eerything so we'll be good! Now to buy them! During practice we practiced skating on one foot for extended periods of time, I couldnt do it very well with my outdoor wheels on, but with my indoor wheels I did hella good on both feet! I was excited for that, we also practiced JUMPING! I was all scared for this cuz it seems like it would be super hard, but surprisingly while I was on my outdoor wheels I had no problems jumping. I wasnt lifting my feet high enough at first and kept catching the rope, but after I got the hang of it then I was good. I was Jumping like crazy and catching some air too! It was alot of fun. I actually didnt biff it either, I was surprised because i thought for sure that I would fall at least once, I mean trying out the new skates and boots I actually fell about 6 times during practice. So I was expecting it and when it didnt happen I was like HOORAY! Bust em buxom recorded 5 diff videos of us jumping and uploaded them onto FB. And they were really cool too! Next week we are gonna be jump roping on skates. Hahaha.

So anyways the track is getting layed in the warehouse tomorrow and then they are going to officially measure it all and see if we can pull it off. If we can then the warehouse is ours! If this works out then practice 4-5 nights a week! And im so excited! I cant wait to practice that much! Its gonna rock! I found out that we wont be playing bouts until March next year. Thats when the new season starts and we enter in then, until then we are gonna work on finding a building, and learning the game. practice practice practice! Also to go along with that statement, we are learning the rules too. There are 46 pages of rules, and we have to know them all! I decided to write them down on flashcards, it will make it easier for me to memorize them. Well I am only on section 3 of the rules which is like 8 pages in and I have already used more than half of the flash cards. Hahaha Im going to have to buy like 5 more packs. Im gonna have ALOT of flash cards when im done. WTF. So many rules to know!!!!!!!!!!!!  Anyways ive been working on those each day. And Raggs has been asking us a few questions during practices now so that will help us too. Anyways Im uploading a few pix of practice so enjoy them!!!!

Yardsale!

The yardsale was EPIC! There was sooo many people there and so much stuff! I sold all my stuff except like a few shirts and some random jewelry but all the rest got sold. It was awesome. For the first few hours I went with Tink, Sylvia and Nichole and we skated to 400 S and stood on the corners waving our signs!

Then I came back, put a sign in my dads shop, which I forgot to go pickup.. OOPS! Ill get it later, then I juss helped around the yardsale, moving stuff over to consolidate for space, hanging up shirts on empty hangers, taking money, ect. It was a blast! And I got some EPIC tanlines since I was wearing a fishnet shirt. Hahahaha.

But it was so fun! Cant wait for practice monday, my tan lines are going to be showing and its gonna be hilarious!  So thank you to all who donated and helped in any way, we met our goal and possibly went over it! I dont know the exact number juss yet but I know it was over our goal! We did way good and it was alot of fun! I would update more if I wasnt so tired!! Peace!

Finally finished my Yardsale Posters, ha!

So I got the yardsale posters done for tomorrow, I got my hair re-dyed, I got price tag stickers and actually priced alot of stuff except for the clothes. Ill do them when we get to the yardsale because the stickers pop off when folding them I noticed. Also I got an entire list of the things I am putting into the yardsale and how much they all are selling for juss in case the price tags pop off, which im sure they will. Looks like im set for tomorrow, I gotta be there bright and early 6:30 am! SNAPP!  Ill be taking a bunch of pix of the event and its gonna be awesome!

RULES!

Omg my head is going to ESPLODE! Juss thought I would share. I have been studying the WFTDA rules for days on end and I still dont know them all. I took the little test thingy again and I missed 11 which is better than before but still not that good. And then I even missed some that I got right last time, EPIC FAIL! Time to bus out the flashcards, theres no way around it. I will be writing down rules on Flashcards to review 24-7. This will take days to complete, haha. I also have been watching youtube videos on roller derby and ref hand signals. I will learn this! Next thing to do it finish my yardsale posters for tomorrow! And then this week I am going to be practicing my skills assessment skills. <-- dad that make any sense? Basically I have to be able to do a certain number of things to pass the skills test and there are some that I cannot do. So, time to hit up my basement and practice my ass off. Derby takes up alot of time and energy, and i love eery minute of it!

Warehouse Update!

So the warehouse got un-offically measured last night and its juss close enough to work! YAY! This coming up wednesday the official measuring will happen and the track will be laid. SOO Excited. Apparently though its very dusty and dirty in side, so we are going to be holding a cleanup party to get it all clean. Theres a few areas of the floor that need to be sanded and filled but after thats done then we are good to move into it! Im so excited!!!! More details later!

HVDD Fundraising Yardsale! Saturday!

The yardsale is getting closer! its 2 days away! Address is 407 North main in springville! I finally got some labels and labeled alot of my stuff, minus the clothes. Eerytime I tried to label clothes then fold them and put them in the bags, the labels came off. So im going to have to label them when I get there tomorrow. Ill have to leave early and juss take some extra time and label them! That way the labels wont be falling off. Also tomorrow im dying my hair, and making the posters for the sale. Ill bring my skates too but I wont be skating the entire time I dont think. Idk we'll see. I have outdoor wheels though so I can skate if I want to! Now to find something to wear. Im debating what to wear. Prolly juss pink and black derby gear. Ill wear my pads but not my helmet. That should work. Anyways juss wanted to update on that. Also the warehouse got measured tonight but no word yet on th status of it, so hopefully we'll hear about that saturday!

Derby Updates!

Ive been studying my ass off on the rules, there soo many! I got flashcards and Im going to write all the rules down on them and read them over and over and over until I remember them all! I also went to the store and got the posterboards and price tag stickers. So tonight ill be working pricing my stuff for the yardsale saturday and making the signs. Tomorrow ill be dying my hair so it can look good for the event since its getting faded. I was going to try and go to classic tonight to skate but  im going to pass this week. I have alot to do and I still dont even know what im going to wear yet lol. Thats all for now!

WFTDA Rules!

So since we are going to be taking our assessments here soon i thought I would go study up on the rules and such. Last night I read all 43 pages of rules and it took like 2 hours! Hahahaha! But I know a lot more now than I did, granted I dont remember them all.. But I remember a lot of them and thats good for only reading them once! So theres a little test of 45 questions that you can take after you read all the rules to see where exactly you are on things., I missed 14. I dont think thats too bad for only reading the rules once. But I still need to study! So ill be working on that up until the test happens! I also need to be working on my skills. I need new skates for that because a lot of the stuff I have to do I cant with outdoor wheels. FAIL. New skates needs to happen ASAP! Ill most likely be trying out new skates thursday so soon after that if I like them, which i think I will, then Ill buy them. Thats the update for now! Ttyl!

Epic Q&A

So the meeting was def EPIC like I said before. We talked about all kinds of stuff related to the team and the workings behind the team. News on the warehouse, measuring will happen thursday. So cross your fingers! If we are able to fit a regulation size track in there between the pillars then we will be good! Practices will be 4 to 5 nights a week and things will be moving forward very nicely. The Rules tests will be happening soon and skills assessments. So I gotta practice up! Alot of other stuff was talked about but mostly like private team member info so I wont be posting the details. Juss know that it was epic and im glad that i attended. I am very well informed as of right now. Im also excited for the new league photos and the league t-shirts! Hooray! Getting my new skates soon and practice resumes on Monday night.

Onto other news! Fund raising yardsale this saturday, the 7th at Landmark Reality in Springville! Be there or be square! And if you have anything to donate please let us know ASAP! We can pick up! We have a few more events for this month in the works, including a BBQ bash at Deerhunter and an event (I forgot the details, oops..)  in the food 4 less parking lot. More info on those events soon! Oh ya and we didnt do the outdoor skate cuz it was FREEZING! I wish this weather would make up its mind. I do know that we are going to be skating in some parades this summer too, so watch for us there, the first one being the Springville parade! Im excited to skate in a parade! :)(:

Other news is we are looking for sponsors, we have 3 different price packages and if you are interested in sponsoring us I can get you the packet to fill out. Juss let me know ASAP! The sooner the better. We are handing out a little goodie bag with all of our sponsor packages as well. And one last thing, we will soon be looking for non skating personell who would be interested in volunteering to help us out during bouts and events and such. You dont have to skate but still get to be a part of the derby scene. If youre interested in that please get a hold of me and I will direct you to the proper Derby Darlin to get you started. If you are interested in Joining us we will be holding tryouts in the near future. Watch for my updates on those. As of right now we arent adding anyone new but we are working on the warehouse and getting the rest of the logistics in order before we add more girls. So like i said, watch for the updates because I will be promoting it like crazy when the time comes! Well, I still have lots to do to prepare for the yardsale so im out for now! Peace! 

Final Meeting Date!

So the poll won for Tuesday, which is today. We meet tonight at 7 for the EPIC Q&A and then possibly skating after so we have to bring our gear. Awesome, maybe we will get news on the warehouse tonight!! We'll see.

Possible photoshoot and Derby Meeting changed again?

So Chelsea got her studio all set up and needs me to do a test shoot so we can get the lighting juss right. Not sure when it will happen, but I know it will be in the very near future, like the next few days! Im excited for that. Also she told me that the Apache singles will be coming out soon. I cant wait for those! Onto other new, I sent in my entry for the griptape and have been talking to the owner of the company. Ill keep you updated on that.

Derby News, we took a poll to see what the best day for the meeting would be so we can get the most amount of people as possible. This meting is going to be an EPIC Q&A and so we want as many darlins to attend as possible. Ill let you know when the final date gets decided. Not sure if we are going to do the outdoor skate tomorrow still or not. Thats also in the works. And waiting to hear news on the warehouse! Im so excited for us to get into our place that I could scream! Soon ill be getting new skates and things will be great! Carl juss got his in stock so next time I see him at practice I can try them out! More updates later!

Mandatory meeting

So they changed the meeting to a MANDATORY meeting. Im still going to be there either way lol, but we'll see how things turn out. Hopefully there will be some word of whether or not we measured the warehouse and if its big enough. So we'll see! I have a feeling that alot is going to be talked about at the meeting and im excited for it. <3

Outdoor Skate

Sweet, on Tuesday we are possibly doing an outdoor skate before our meeting. Awesome I havent had the chance to outdoor skate yet so this should be cool! Im excited and I have outdoor wheels so it will be good. Anyways juss thought I would update on that.
